Safety Manager – Data Center Project (Civil Subcontractor)

Location: Abilene
Project Type: Mission Critical / Data Center Construction
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $100,000 – $115,000 annually + per diem if eligible 
Schedule: Monday – Friday with Saturdays as needed
Travel Rotation: Rotation schedule available

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead all site safety operations for a large-scale mission critical data center project in Abilene. This role will oversee the implementation and enforcement of project safety programs for a civil subcontractor operation and will directly manage a team of four safety professionals supporting daily field activities.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience on data center or other mission critical construction projects, excellent leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to drive proactive safety culture and compliance in a fast-paced construction environment.

Texas residency is required for consideration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all project safety operations for a civil subcontractor on an active data center construction site
• Supervise, mentor, and coordinate a team of four safety professionals
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and company safety policies
• Conduct daily site audits, inspections, and hazard assessments
• Develop and implement site-specific safety plans, JHAs, and risk mitigation strategies
• Facilitate safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training programs
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions while ensuring corrective actions are implemented
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, reporting, and compliance records
• Partner with project management and field leadership to promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement
• Interface with general contractor safety representatives and client stakeholders regarding site safety performance
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and enforce accountability across all field operations

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of construction safety management experience
• Prior data center or mission critical project experience required
• Experience supporting civil construction scopes strongly preferred
• Proven experience managing safety personnel in a large-scale construction environment
• Strong understanding of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations
• OSHA 500, CHST, CSP, or equivalent certifications preferred
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment with multiple stakeholders
• Must be a current Texas resident to be considered

Compensation & Benefits

• $100,000 – $115,000 annual salary
• Per diem provided 7 days per week if you meet the criteria
• Monday – Friday schedule with Saturdays as needed
• Travel rotation available
