Job Summary As a key member of the Northpoint team, the Registered Nurse (RN) will provide and oversee medical services for a caseload of patients. The RN will act as the medical treatment plan coordinator for the multidisciplinary team, developing and implementing master treatment plans and discharge plans for each patient. The RN will communicate with support staff, treatment teams, providers, and outside agencies regarding treatment and safety issues of patients and their families. The RN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider and perform duties according to established patient care protocols, standards, and procedures, completing all related documentation in a timely manner. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Interacting routinely with patients, observing behaviors and communicating significant observations to the multidisciplinary team as necessary. Administering medications to patients and engaging in the education process. Using de‑escalation skills when exposed to volatile patients to maintain personal safety for the patient and other individuals in our care. Providing admission, orientation, education and discharge plans to patients, families and others to aid in the treatment process. Consulting with the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop treatment plans and discharge planning to strive for excellent patient care. Participating in the maintenance of a clean, orderly and safe environment, and reporting needs for repairs and maintenance to appropriate staff. Assisting with admissions and discharges of patients. Obtaining vital signs, monitoring symptoms and documenting in the patient record. Complying with all laws, regulations, and scope of licensure. Monitoring patients on an ongoing basis to continually assess needs and facilitate medical treatment and interventions. Documenting medical assessment, diagnosis, progress notes, roundings, and other treatment planning items in a timely manner to assure comprehensive and quality patient care. Actively participating as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and maintaining effective working relationships with employees and peers. Maintaining professional boundaries with patients at all times. Overseeing and participating in the quality assurance and compliance activities of the facility. Providing medical updates to utilization review and representatives of managed care to best coordinate reimbursement of treatment services. Adhering to all company policies and procedures. Maintaining confidentiality in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care. Performing other clinically appropriate services and special projects as assigned. Qualifications / Requirements Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state where services are rendered. Must be at least twenty‑one (21) years of age. Current nationally accredited CPR/First Aid/AED certification. Knowledge of computer and electronic medical records systems (KIPU preferred). Enthusiasm, passion for working with people, and an internal drive to improve the lives of individuals in our care. Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements throughout duration of employment. Ability to work with a diverse population along with interpersonal skills and knowledge required for treating patients in the area of assigned specialty. Demonstrated ability to hold strong personal boundaries and build rapport with patients. Must understand and adhere to the ethical standards of the respective licensure governing board.
