Dental Assistant - Experienced

At A Small World Pediatric Dentistry, we are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team as a Full-Time experienced Dental Assistant. This Dental Assistant position is integral to our commitment to providing top-quality dental care to our community's youth. Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Set up and breakdown operatory post treatment.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling).
• Take dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Manage dental supply inventory and ensure adequate stocking of supplies.
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
• Provide patients with follow-up appointments and dental care information post-treatment.
• Perform various office tasks as necessary.
• Ensure all health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to.
• Maintain dental records; accurately charting in patient records.
• Assist in the management of dental and medical emergencies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dental Assistant certification from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1-year experience as a dental assistant preferred.
• Strong understanding of dental instruments and standard dental procedures.
• Proficient in using dental software, ideally with experience in Dentrix.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on patient-facing abilities.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current X-ray certification.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• A friendly, reassuring, and professional demeanor.
• Must be a team player and able to work efficiently with others.
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols.
• Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience as a dental assistant
• Coronal polishing certification is a plus.
