Social Media Specialist

Our client in the higher education space is looking for a Social Media Specialist to join their team for about 40 hours a week for the next 6+ months!

This is an exciting opportunity that is equal parts content creation and social strategist, helping to engage audiences in real time while producing compelling content. To be considered for this role you must be local to Chicago, there will be occasional travel for commencement or other special events and occasional in office days for content creation that will typically happen in Lisle, IL, but will be mostly remote.

Portfolio is required which should demonstrate strong copywriting and communication skills with an ability to adapt tone by platform.

- Develop and execute social media content plans including content ideation, copywriting, and monthly briefs

- Design and edit content using tools like Canva, CapCut or similar

- Ensure all copy adheres to brand voice and tone and compliance standards

- Support community management which will include monitoring and responding to comments and messages across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Tik Tok and Threads

- Oversee paid strategy, budget management, audience targeting and performance optimization

The Social Media Specialist must have

- 3+ years experience in social media, community management and content creation

- Experience managing brand accounts and engaging with audiences

- Comfortable capturing content and occasionally appearing on camera

- Familiar with social publishing tools such as Sprinklr, Sprout, Brandwatch etc.

- Proficient in CapCut and Canva or similar

- Experience with a project management tool such as Asana

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
