Job Details Job Location: HNC - Haines City, FL 33844 Position Type: Full Time Education Level: None Salary Range: $15.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: Road Warrior Job Shift: Any Job Category: Hospitality - Hotel General Purpose The purpose of this position is to assist truck drivers during the pick-up and delivery of linen from and to client locations by performing any combination of the following tasks: Duties and Responsibilities Loads and unloads vehicles by hand. Secures items in position on the truck to prevent movement during shipment. Delivers merchandise on customer’s premises and obtains receipt for the shipment. Assists the driver with customer service. Represents the company professionally. Communicates with the manager of any discrepancies during the route. Helps guide the truck to the loading dock if or when needed. Assists other drivers if needed, pre-loads trailers and stages carts in the soil staging area. Picks up trash from the driving compartment and sweeps out the cargo area. Performs other duties as required by manager. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent certification preferred. Must have at least 3-6 months of similar loading/unloading work experience. Good communication skills are required both in written and verbal format. Must be highly organized and able to follow instructions with minimal supervision. Must always pay attention to details. Must be able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions and sit in the truck for prolonged periods of time when en route to delivery points. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in the English language. Must be able to do constant heavy lifting often 75 or more pounds. Working Conditions Work occurs both inside and outside; protection from weather conditions is limited. Frequent exposure to extreme cold (below 32°F for more than an hour) and extreme heat (above 100°F for more than an hour). Frequent noise requiring hearing protection. Vibration and oscillating movements of extremities or whole body. Potential hazards include moving parts, electricity, gas, scaffolding, chemicals, and other occupational hazards. Extended viewing of screens and exposure to fumes, odors, mists, gases, and poor ventilation. Exposure to oils and cutting fluids; respirator use may be required. Essential Abilities and Functions Standing, walking, sitting, and twisting for extended periods. Stairs and stairs navigation. Stooping, crouching, crawling as needed. Talking and hearing for customer interaction. Reaching, seeing, and using precise hand movements. Pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
