Global People Ops Automation & Compliance Manager

Location: Austin, TX Work Schedule: Hybrid (2-3 days on-site) Compensation: $74.38 - $106.23/hr Position Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Global People Operations Automation & Compliance Manager to join our People Operations team. In this role, you will lead efforts to streamline HR processes through automation, ensure compliance with global standards, and serve as a critical liaison between People Ops and cross-functional partners including IT, Legal, Privacy, Security, Payroll, and Finance. You will develop frameworks that support scalable, AI-driven HR solutions and drive continuous process improvement, enhancing employee experience and operational efficiency on a global scale. This is a contingent worker role designed to empower our HR technology and compliance initiatives through innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities: Automation and Process Enablement: Collaborate across global People Ops teams to identify manual processes, facilitate workshops for future-state process design, and partner with IT to implement AI-enabled automation solutions that enhance scalability and efficiency. Compliance & Documentation: Act as the primary contact for audit and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to relevant standards and activating resources as needed. Frameworks & Governance: Develop standard operating procedures, documentation, and governance frameworks to ensure consistent and compliant way of working across the organization. Partner with Centers of Excellence (COEs) to evolve processes and maintain continuous improvement. Systems & Operations Support: Serve as the key point of contact with IT organizations (PPS, H2R, CustomerZero), providing insights into People Ops needs and digital transformation opportunities. Liaison & Project Activation: Partner closely with stakeholders across the company to embed HR initiatives from inception, influence project direction, and ensure successful delivery of HR technology and automation projects. Required Qualifications: 8+ years of progressive experience in Global People Operations, HR Operations, HRIS, or related People Programs managing complex, cross-functional initiatives supporting a worldwide workforce. Deep expertise in end-to-end hire-to-retire processes across multiple countries, including HR audits, compliance, data privacy, and operational governance. Proven success redesigning workflows for efficiency and implementing automation solutions, including translating business needs into technical requirements. Strong knowledge of Workday HRIS processes, case management platforms (Zendesk, Jira, ServiceNow), workflow automation tools, and emerging AI productivity platforms (e.g., OpenCode, AppScript, NotebookLM, Codex, Claude Code). Experience leading enterprise-wide projects with cross-departmental collaboration, stakeholder influence, and governance establishment. Skilled in developing process documentation, operational procedures, and governance frameworks that promote operational excellence. Analytical mindset with experience leveraging operational data to identify improvements and measure outcomes. Preferred Skills & Experience: Experience supporting global HR compliance and audit activities. Familiarity with AI and automation tools related to HR and People Operations. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
