MRI Technologist PRN

Position Details Department: Scotland Memorial Hospital Status: Part time Shift: Various Location: United States of America Requirements Eligible for, or possession of, a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. One to three years of experience preferred. Responsibilities Performs all MRI scans; demonstrates anatomy under investigation through proper patient positioning, technique selection, administration of contrast media, application of immobilization and radiation protection devices according to department policy and procedures. Receives consultation request, checks for special instructions from the requesting physician; consults with the Radiologist as necessary; greets patients, confirms identification, introduces self; explains examination procedure to patient and family; reviews all MRI safety procedures with patients, family, and non-MRI associates. Updates patient examination history file, records unusual conditions/limitations, documents examination time, technique factors, contrast media injections; completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required; performs other paperwork as required. Maintains necessary inventory of supplies for assigned room or workstation, rotating stock in an orderly fashion, and eliminating outdated items. Age-specific competency: Knowledge of human growth and development across the patient lifespan; age categories include: Neonatal/Infant (0‑11 months); Pediatrics (1‑12 years); Adolescence (13‑17 years); Young Adult/Adult (18‑64 years); Adult/Middle-Aged (65‑79 years); Geriatric (80+ years). Transports patients as needed.
