Manufacturing Lab Technician

Location: Durham, NC

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | 8AM – 430PM

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Lab Technician:

• Preparing, labeling, documenting, packaging, and tracking material samples for testing
• Supporting catalyst material synthesis, sample processing, and preparation activities
• Operating laboratory instruments, benchtop test systems, and pilot-scale reactors
• Collecting, analyzing, documenting, and reporting testing data
• Loading and unloading laboratory ovens while following established safety procedures
• Performing basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment
• Following laboratory SOPs and maintaining a strong safety-first culture
• Collaborating with scientists and engineers on product and process development projects
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory workspace
• Supporting additional projects and continuous improvement initiatives as needed

Required Qualifications for the Manufacturing Lab Technician:

We're seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual who is eager to learn, enjoys technical work, and takes pride in producing high-quality results.

• Associate degree in a science, engineering, or technical field
• Experience working in an academic or industrial laboratory environment
• Experience with analytical instrumentation, including TGA, DSC, FTIR, or Mass Spectrometry
• Knowledge of wet chemistry techniques, solution preparation, and reagent formulation
• Experience with laboratory-scale reactor systems, reaction monitoring, and sample collection
• Strong commitment to safety and quality
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Mechanical aptitude and strong critical thinking abilities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Working around laboratory equipment and mechanical noise
• Exposure to varying temperatures, including heated laboratory ovens
• Standing and moving throughout much of the workday
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 40 pounds
• Bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and other physical activities as needed
• Following all safety procedures and PPE requirements
