Job Description
The QC Inspector is responsible for performing detailed in-process and final inspections of printed circuit board assemblies to ensure compliance with customer specifications and industry standards. This role serves as the final quality checkpoint in the manufacturing process, identifying defects, verifying rework, and ensuring adherence to IPC-A-610, AS9100D, and ISO standards. The position requires strong attention to detail, experience with inspection tools, and the ability to maintain accurate quality documentation and traceability.
Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections of printed circuit board assemblies to ensure they meet customer specifications and industry standards.
• Serve as the final quality checkpoint in the manufacturing process, identifying defects and verifying rework.
• Ensure adherence to IPC-A-610, AS9100D, and ISO standards.
• Maintain accurate quality documentation and traceability.
• Perform visual inspections on PCB assemblies under magnification.
• Conduct First Article Inspections and validate builds against BOMs and drawings.
• Identify solder defects such as bridges, cold joints, insufficient solder, polarity issues, and missing parts.
• Collaborate with SMT/AOI teams and utilize ERP/MRP systems.

Essential Skills

• Active or recent IPC-A-610 certification required; J-STD-001 preferred.
• 35 years of quality inspection experience in electronics manufacturing (PCBA).
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and BOMs.
• Proven ability to conduct First Article Inspections.
• Expert-level component recognition (SMT and through-hole).
• Excellent attention to detail and focus for high-density electronic assemblies.
• Strong communication skills for documenting defects and working with production teams.
• Visual acuity and ability to use microscopes for extended periods.
• Manual dexterity for handling ESD-sensitive components.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, and routing instructions.
• IPC J-STD-001 certification.
• Experience working with SMT/AOI teams.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garland, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
