Job Summary The CT Technologist will coordinate services and activities specific to the Imaging area (CT and Radiology). They monitor all technical clerical functions, including efficient patient throughput and effective utilization of equipment and human resources based on patient load. They are responsible for performing CT scans and taking radiographs according to the standards set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists to aid in diagnosis or treatment. They perform Computed Tomography procedures, apply appropriate patient care, recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure, and ensure staff is trained, competent, and in‑service regularly. They exercise professional judgment and participate in providing patient‑specific care standards as directed. Responsibilities Perform prescribed CT – Computed Tomographic procedures. Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in the use of CT scan equipment. Show knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Document, on film or in writing, information seen during exam. Relay to physicians any relevant patient information. Apply principles of radiation safety to minimize risk to patient, self and others. Participate in rotating call schedule. Perform in other areas of department as needed. Qualifications Associate Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology. Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or an American Medical Association approved program or a military training program of equivalent standards. One to two years of previous experience performing CT – Computed Tomography procedures preferred. Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board (TMB). Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and post‑primary certification in Computed Tomography within 6 months of hire. Basic Cardiac Life Support obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
