PT Evening Program Coordinator - Davidson Cornerstone

Phipps Neighborhoods, the social service affiliate of Phipps Houses, has been a catalyst for community growth and empowerment for over 50 years. Education and School-Day Programs: Offering pre-kindergarten services, community schools, after-school programs, and college access counseling. Sector-Focused Training and Employment Placement Pathways: Providing specialized training, employment placement pathways, Summer Youth Employment, Work Learning Grow initiatives, and aiding residents in accessing new employment opportunities. Community & Economic Empowerment Services: Enabling community progress through community centers, resident services, food access, financial literacy programs, and support accessing benefits and wellness services. Position Summary The PT Evening Program Coordinator will work closely with the Site Director to create a dynamic evening program utilizing youth development best practices and principles in conducting academic enrichment, project-based learning, arts, and physical education activities. Duties and Responsibilities With the support of the Site Director, design, develop, and support an evening/weekend program for all participants. Plan and implement program themes and activities. Support and coach group leaders and junior group leaders. Work closely with the Site Director to organize logistics for the program; schedules, space reservations, resources needed, etc. Some weekend work related to special events, meetings may be required. Create a strong sense of community which values respect, acceptance, and high expectations. Coordinate a team of Group Leaders; each group leader is responsible for a cohort of students. Work closely with the Site Director and group leaders to establish a common language and vision that speaks to our purpose in the community and the impact we aim to make. Work closely with families, parents and guardians to ensure the needs of students are met. Help collect and organize data. Assist the Site Director with the creation of a monthly newsletter for families, school administration, and stakeholders. Perform any and all tasks deemed necessary by the Site Director. Qualifications / Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Some college credits preferred. At least 2 years’ experience in a youth development role. Experience working with the targeted age group is ideal. Demonstrated track record of accomplishments. Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite and electronic communications tools: internet and email required. Demonstrated organizational skills required; proven problem solving and interpersonal skills; proven ability to work with multiple deadlines and multiple priorities. Ability to work across a variety of projects and with diverse populations. Flexibility, adaptability and ability to work in a changing environment.
