We sell exclusively to retail agencies across the country with a focus on small to mid-market E&S commercial and specialty personal lines risks.**About the Position:**The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent customer service skills and serve as a technical resource to a large and growing binding and brokerage team. Successful applicants will work with the in-house Underwriter(s) partnered with the carriers and retail agents to request and review underwriting information for processing of placement of coverage, invoicing, rating & processing endorsements, assisting with preparation of quotes and obtaining accurate state compliance documents.**Responsibilities of Underwriting Assistant:*** Bind/invoice placement of coverage, rate and process endorsements with invoicing, audits, and other documents according to established departmental procedures with accuracy, efficiency, and meeting compliance standards.* Handle cancellation notices, cancellation endorsements and rescission documents.* Act as liaison between clients and the underwriter to obtain missing information, status of quote/bind, and/or other requests for information.* State SL compliance documentation handling.* Other duties as assigned.**Qualifications Underwriting Assistant:*** High School graduate required; College courses preferred.* Previous work experience in the fields of insurance underwriting, customer service, with a successful track record of at least 5 years or more.* Positive attitude and enjoy helping others through frequent phone and email communication.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.* High level of adaptability to meet the needs of various situations.* Strong organization skills, with a high level of detail orientation.* Proficiency in Outlook, Excel and various rating portals.**Compensation:**Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $26 to $28 an hour and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
