Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Alexandria, Louisiana. This position involves providing high-acuity patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. The nurse will deliver both routine and complex care to patients experiencing a range of conditions, including strokes, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health concerns, and sepsis. Candidates must demonstrate independence, clinical competence, and the ability to manage contingencies in a high-pressure environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, current RN license in the state of employment or a compact license, BLS certification from AHA, ACLS certification from AHA, PALS certification from AHA, 1 year of experience in emergency room nursing.
• Preferred Qualifications: None specified.
• Additional Information: The position involves caring for very high acuity patients in a designated emergency department. Security personnel are on-site 24/7. The unit handles a heavy load of stroke, cardiovascular, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis cases, with some trauma cases. The hospital offers a full-time, possibly temp-to-perm opportunity, with no floating requirements. New hires must attend orientation within the first 30 days and complete organizational competency requirements.
