Role Description The Unit Manager is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Columbus, GA, responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations. This role includes managing staff scheduling, supervising service quality, and ensuring that guests receive consistent, friendly, and efficient service. The Unit Manager monitors food safety and cleanliness, handles inventory and ordering, and supports budget and cost controls to meet financial targets. Daily responsibilities also include coaching and developing Associates, supporting hiring and training efforts, and reinforcing Waffle House standards, policies, and safety procedures. The Unit Manager works hands-on in the restaurant, leading by example during all shifts and maintaining a positive, inclusive workplace. Qualifications Leadership and team management skills, including the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate diverse team members. Operational skills in restaurant or retail environments, such as scheduling, inventory management, and basic budgeting. Customer service and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to provide a welcoming experience and address concerns professionally. Organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. Strong communication skills, including clear verbal communication and effective listening. Ability to work on-site in Columbus, GA, with flexibility for early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Previous supervisory or management experience in food service, hospitality, or retail is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, hospitality, or management is a plus.
