PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Primary Purpose Perform, under general supervision, routine preventative maintenance and inspection on district facilities and equipment. Assist in identifying potential issues and ensuring equipment operates efficiently to prevent breakdowns. Special Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and practices Knowledge of proper use of hand and power tools, machines, and equipment Understanding of basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems Ability to follow maintenance schedules and procedures Ability to work within safety guidelines and apply regulations Basic computer operation preferred, e.g., word processing and use of email Experience Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in maintenance or related field Primary Duties And Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance. Perform minor repairs and adjustments during inspections to avoid equipment failure. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and work performed. Identify and report any potential issues that could lead to equipment or system failure. Adhere to established maintenance schedules for district-wide facilities. Ensure safe operation of district vehicles, tools, and equipment. Comply with district policies and procedures, including safety regulations. Assist with emergency maintenance as required. Secondary Duties And Responsibilities Assist other trades and departments as needed in maintenance or repair tasks. Support the implementation of energy management and conservation practices. Assist in maintaining building systems, including lighting, security, and fire alarms. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors. Salary The salary for the above position will be based on the salary schedule currently in effect by Board Policy and Administrative Regulations.
