Moncrief Army Health Clinic is a Defense Health Agency military medical treatment facility located at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. It is dedicated to optimizing health readiness and providing comprehensive medical care to active-duty Soldiers, their beneficiaries, retirees, and veterans under the age of 65.

Duties

• Works independently performing routine, emergent, and specialized procedures with responsibility for protocols, patient care, and magnet safety.
• Receives and reviews requests from physicians and other health care providers for magnetic resonance imaging examinations of patients.
• Performs adult and pediatric magnetic resonance imaging of the heart to identify cardiac pathology.
• Independently establishes various parameters.
• Trains Graduate Medical Education (GME) radiology residents, non-radiologist physicians, 68P students and other personnel in MRI principles, procedures, capabilities, techniques, and equipment.

Radiology Certification: Public Law 97-35 requires that persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75. Essentially, they must (1) have successfully completed an educational program that meets or exceeds the standards described in that regulation, and is accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education, and (2) be certified as radiographers in their field.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing magnetic resonance imaging diagnostic equipment or performing quality control procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

OR Education: Successful completion of a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Diagnostic Radiology/Radiography.

OR Combination of Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
