Job Title Veterinary Assistant Job Summary Banfield Pet Hospital seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and associates while maintaining high quality veterinary care. The role involves assisting with patient flow, performing non‑vet‑tech procedures, and offering client education on preventive care. Responsibilities Ensure pets, clients, and associates are safe. Assist veterinarians and vet techs with examinations, procedures, and patient care. Maintain patient flow and keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean and organized. Communicate with veterinarians and vets techs. Carry out or set up procedures that do not require vet or vet tech assistance. Educate clients about Banfield’s Optimum Wellness Plans and the importance of preventive care. Mentor other members of the hospital team. Qualifications Certificate of completion from a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education, training, and experience. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to perform all required skills of NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant programs at a level that aids in practice efficiency.
