Senior Operations Manager

Role Description The Senior Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Rochester, NY, responsible for overseeing daily plant operations and ensuring efficient delivery of products and services. This role manages production planning, resource allocation, and workflow optimization to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets. The Senior Operations Manager leads and develops cross-functional teams, implements continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates with engineering, supply chain, and quality to resolve operational issues. The position also oversees budgeting, performance metrics, and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations, while driving operational excellence and supporting strategic growth objectives. Qualifications Proven experience in operations management within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments, preferably related to transportation or rail systems. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage supervisors, and develop talent in a fast-paced, production-focused setting. Strong skills in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with production planning, capacity management, inventory control, and supply chain coordination. Solid understanding of quality management, safety standards, and regulatory compliance in an industrial context. Proficiency in data analysis, performance metrics, and use of ERP or manufacturing execution systems. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and international teams. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean, Six Sigma) are a plus. Experience working in a global organization and comfort with multicultural environments; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
