Position: Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse

Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (06:30 - 19:00)

Start Dates: 9/14, 9/28

Job Description

The Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Nurse will be responsible for providing specialized care in a surgical environment focused on pediatric cardiac cases. The position requires expertise in cardiovascular procedures and a thorough understanding of congenital heart defects. As part of a dedicated team, the nurse will also care for general operating room patients.

Requirements

• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in Pediatric CVOR.
• Certifications Required: BLS, PALS.
• Call Requirement: On-call shifts will be evenly distributed among team members, including 1-2 weekends per schedule.
• Floating Requirement: Must be willing to float to the main operating room as needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience with arterial switch operation
• Knowledge of ASD/VSD repair and coarctation of the aorta repair
• Competence in monitoring conscious sedation
• Skills in ECMO insertion/decannulation
• Expertise in performing Fontan procedure, Norwood procedure, PDA ligation, and Tetralogy of Fallot Repair
• Proficient in valve repair/replacement and ventricular assist device implantation

Patient Care Details

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse patient population that includes:

• Pediatrics

Additional Information

• Orientation may include up to 16 hours of modules, which are essential for role preparation.
