The Role: This position in the Department of Chemistry is expected to teach introductory chemistry lecture and laboratory courses for science majors as well as non-science majors. Instructional duties may also include upper division courses in biochemistry. The incumbent will possess superior teaching abilities and a willingness to teach a wide range of courses at all levels and modalities. This person will be invited to participate as a full member of the department. Faculty will integrate CWU's vision, mission, and values and create a learning environment that fosters student success and institutional excellence.Minimum Qualifications

- Master's degree in biochemistry or biochemistry related discipline of chemistry
- Possess superior teaching abilities
- Willingness to teach a wide range of courses at all levels and modalities
- Teaching, research, service or other experience that has prepared the candidate to contribute to CWU's commitment to the engagement of students from a variety of backgrounds.
- PhD in biochemistry or biochemistry related discipline of chemistry (ABD candidates may be considered; however, the terminal degree must be completed within one year of start date)
- University-level teaching experience
- Experience or interest in developing and teaching online courses
- Experience in curriculum development and improvement.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment and/or utilizing a variety of teaching methods designed for broad student success.
- Experience or interest in mentoring students from a variety of backgrounds.
- Accountability/Dependability: Accepts responsibility for quality of own work; acknowledges and corrects mistakes. Shows up on time, meets standards, deadlines, and work schedules.

Pay & Work Schedule
Annual Salary : $44,955 - $56,160, based on a full-time nine-month appointment.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Appointment : Temporary, Non-Tenure-Track, 9 Month Appointment. Additional Summer teaching may be available. Central Washington University is on the quarter system with appointments from mid-September through mid-June.
