Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital as a Radiology Technician Special Procedures in the Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab departments. Here, you will take general radiographic films in the department and with mobile x-ray units in other areas of the hospital; assist with fluoroscopy; assist in teaching radiology students; prepare charge slips and other records as required. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. Under the supervision of the Chief Technologist Interventional Radiology performs all of the duties of the radiologic technologist and in addition assists the radiologist in the preparation for and performance of specialized procedures requiring advanced on the job training for both inpatients and outpatients of all ages.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
• Maintains certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Retains active Radiography accreditation with the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety

Preferred Skill:

• Must have intimate and thorough knowledge of sophisticated equipment involved in Interventional Radiology
• Should be aggressive, with ability to work under pressure; to react quickly and accurately to problem situations

Additional Requirements:

• Must have IL RN license in hand
• Must have IL LPN/LVN license in hand
• Must have IL CNA license in hand
• All allied positions require state or national certification and/or license
• Locals accepted at the same bill rate
• Attach Nursys when submitting (pulled within the last 2 weeks). No license hits allowed automatic redirect
• Former UCM, PRN, or Ingalls permanent staff (IE any University of Chicago location) must be gone 7 months to come back as a traveler. ALL requirements above are STILL APPLICABLE
• Use traveler's LEGAL FIRST AND LAST NAME when submitting profile. This is a requirement for the background check and badge process
• Any block scheduling or special schedule requests must be made on the submittal email and discussed in the interview. Any request made after the offer is accepted or onsite will not be accepted by unit manager
