Sheet Metal Installer (Prevailing Wage Project) – Stamford, CT Location: Stamford, Connecticut Job Type: Full-Time (Project-Based / Contract) Compensation: Prevailing Wage (per Connecticut Department of Labor) + Fringe Benefits Job Overview We are actively hiring experienced Sheet Metal Installers for a prevailing wage project in Stamford, CT. This role focuses on the installation of HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems on commercial and/or public works projects. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with duct installation, understands job site safety, and can work efficiently in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Install sheet metal ductwork for HVAC systems (rectangular, round, and spiral) Measure, cut, and assemble sheet metal components according to project specifications Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and job site plans Install hangers, supports, and duct systems in accordance with SMACNA standards Seal and insulate ductwork as required Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and other trades on site Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety standards, and project requirements Follow all prevailing wage and certified payroll compliance procedures Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Requirements 3+ years of sheet metal or HVAC duct installation experience Experience working on commercial or public works (prevailing wage) jobs strongly preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings Strong knowledge of duct installation methods and materials OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred) Ability to work at heights and lift 50+ lbs Reliable transportation to Stamford, CT job site Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team Compensation & Benefits Prevailing wage rates in accordance with CT Department of Labor Fringe benefits package (health, pension, or cash equivalent depending on project requirements) Overtime opportunities Weekly pay Potential for long‑term employment based on performance and upcoming projects Pay range: $35.00 – $45.00 per hour Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Stamford, CT.
