Quality Control Technician

The Quality Control Technician ensures that materials, in-process components, and finished products meet internal and customer quality standards. This role performs inspections, investigates deviations, maintains documentation, and supports continuous improvement efforts in collaboration with cross-functional teams. The technician also assists in analyzing root causes of quality issues, supports corrective actions, and may work directly with customers when necessary.
What You'll Do
- Perform in-process and final inspections to verify part features and tolerances meet specifications.
- Develop and maintain inspection procedures, forms, and quality reporting instructions.
- Assist in investigating nonconformances and complete associated documentation (MRRs and CARs).
- Collaborate with team leaders and operators to ensure proper inspection and reporting practices across all shifts.
- Analyze causes of scrap, rework, and warranty claims to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement by working with engineers to improve process stability and product quality.
- Maintain quality documentation and records in accordance with company procedures.
- Generate and present quality-related reports, including cost of quality or defect trends.
- Review and analyze customer warranty claims and coordinate appropriate actions, including repair cost estimates.
- Visit customer sites as needed to support quality investigations and ensure product setup accuracy.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a quality control, inspection, or manufacturing role.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to travel occasionally for customer visits.
- Our Antigo facility is under ITAR/UNNPI regulations, must be a US Citizen
- The ideal candidate possesses the following experience, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of machining processes, metrology, and metallurgy.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and manufacturing blueprints.
- Strong working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMMs.
- Understanding of inspection and testing methods used in precision manufacturing.
- Ability to maintain accuracy and detail while preparing documentation and analyzing data.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset for working across teams.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify root causes and contribute to long-term quality improvements.
- Organized, self-motivated, and adaptable in a dynamic production environment.
- Split between manufacturing floor and office setting; frequent interaction with production equipment and materials.
- Exposure to standard industrial conditions including noise, temperature changes, and dust.
- Regular standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection as needed.
- Occasional travel to customer sites for quality-related support or analysis.
