Position Summary This position provides journey-level expertise in electricalconstruction and maintenance within a collaborative teamenvironment. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance andrepair of existing building electrical systems, including thereplacement of components such as lighting fixtures, branchcircuits, and overcurrent and short-circuit protection devices.Duties also include the installation, maintenance, and repair of awide range of electronic equipment, encompassing both commercialand specialized systems that may require custom design and uniquemaintenance procedures. Additionally, the role involvesmaintaining, repairing, and replacing components of campus exteriorlighting systems and associated control devices, including bothpole-mounted and building-mounted fixtures. Minimum Requirements Possession of one of the following Oregon Electrician Licensesappropriate to the work to be performed: General Supervising Electrician License General Journeyman Electrician License Limited Journey Manufacturing Plant License Limited Supervising Manufacturing Plant License Professional Competencies Ability to perform duties in a way that advances and supports themission of the department and university. Skilled in taking initiative, looking for what needs to be doneand doing it. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to maintain a safe and safety-conscious workplace. Strong customer service skills Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment Preferred Qualifications 3 years' experience as a Journey-Level Electrician Maintenance experience in a higher education facility or largecommercial/residential complex. Experience with general maintenance and repair of HVACsystems. Knowledge/experience with maintenance and repair of steam heatingand hot water boiler, and kitchen appliance systems.
