Senior Preconstruction Engineer

Senior Preconstruction Engineer (Project Management) Juneau Construction Companys Miami-based Preconstruction Team is expanding! We are seeking qualified Senior Preconstruction Engineers to support estimating efforts for large-scale, complex Commercial Construction projects in the Southeast. General Description The Senior Preconstruction Engineers role is to assist the Preconstruction Manager, Project Manager, and other operations staff members with preconstruction pursuits from lump-sum hard bids to preliminary CM at Risk budgets. Senior Preconstruction Engineer will primarily be responsible for quantity take offs, subcontractor solicitation, and scope analyzation on assigned projects. Position Qualifications B.S. in Construction Management, or related engineering discipline5+ years of Preconstruction experience General knowledge of building practices systems and assembliesExperience in both hard bid and CM at Risk design-assist estimating efforts is preferred Duties and Responsibilities Provide preconstruction administration and technical assistance for one large, complex project ($50+ million) or multiple small/medium projects ($15+ million)Work in conjunction with Preconstruction team in preparing detailed cost estimates and project budgets ranging from conceptual to GMP based construction documentsReview design documents and complete an accurate quantity take-off for assigned scopes of workReview design iterations, addendum, updates, etc. and identify changes in scope that may result in cost changes. Update internal documents (COB and estimate) to reflect the changes and adequately communicate said changes to subcontractors to insure inclusion in subcontractors pricingReview project construction schedule and assist in preparation of general conditionsIdentify and solicit subcontractors for various preconstruction pursuits and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage in each scope of workCommunicate with subcontractors regarding involvement/interest in preconstruction pursuits and diligently follow up to review project scope and pricing prior to bid dayActively review scope and quantity information with subcontractors in advance of bid dayIdentify and resolve design conflicts and missing information by preparing, tracking, submitting, and distributing preconstruction Requests for Information (RFIs)Help identify and prequalify new subcontractors Assist with purchasing and issuance of subcontracts and purchase ordersAssist with conceptual estimating of preliminary preconstruction pursuitsLead training of other team members as directed Knowledge Requirements Senior Estimator must become proficient in and be capable of training other employees in the use and execution of the following systems: Preconstruction standards and proceduresSubcontractor database management and utilizationSubcontractor bid pricing review and comprehensionComparison of Bid (COB) creation and analyzationGeneral knowledge of building practices, systems, and assembliesJuneau estimate set-up and organizationOn-Screen TakeoffEarthWorks ProProcore Project Management SoftwareProject solicitation creation, issuance, maintenance, and updatingSubcontractor database organization and updatingEstimate notebook setup and organization Microsoft Office SuitePrimavera/P6 Job Expectations Position may require extended periods of time sitting and/or standing, talking both in person and over technological avenues, lifting up to 20 lbs. as neededPosition may require travel within the Juneau Construction Company footprint to jobsites and additional office locations for various events and meetings as needed. #J-18808-Ljbffr Juneau Construction Company in
