Associate Data Engineer

Nomura Group Data Office PositionThe pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $95K and $135K/year*Group Data Office is the Group Central Data and Analytics arm that works closely with the Group Businesses and Group Corporate functions to enable the execution Nomura Group Strategy through Robust Data Standards & Governance, Actionable Performance Metrics & MIS, and High Impact Information and Analytics Products and Solution.Job Purpose:Drive development of data governance products for data and digital transformation across Nomura Group.Job Responsibilities:Responsible for the design, development, delivery & maintenance of the firm wide strategic Data Quality Engine (DQE) backend components(s).Qualification & Core Skills requirement:Masters in quantitative fields (Computer Science, Statistics or similar) or at least a 4-year Bachelor's degree in quantitative fields with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.Strong understanding of fundamental data concepts (data modelling, data pipelines, data quality, lineage etc.) and data warehousing methodologiesHands on individual contributor.Key Technical Skills:Core JavaMicro-Services (Spring Boot)Hibernate/JPAMessage Queues (e.g. Solace or Kafka)Java Messaging Service using any caching framework (Gemfire/Redis/Ehcache/SQLUnix commandsGood To Have Skills: Spark, Hadoop, Hive,Javascript,ReactBase pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, corporate and functional title and duties, job-related knowledge and advanced degrees, skills, and experience.If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors”.Nomura is an Equal Opportunity EmployerNearest Major Market: ManhattanNearest Secondary Market: New York City
