Must-Have: Crisis Intervention: Providing immediate, short-term support to patients in crisis, including de-escalation techniques and appropriate medication management. Therapeutic Communication: Building trust and rapport with patients through effective communication skills, active listening, and empathy.

Description: 48 hours guaranteed an option. Number of Beds: 10. Patient Ratios: Nurses 8 to 1, Mental Health Technicians 12 to 1. Documentation system: Meditech. Coverage required for three 12-hour shifts each day, seven days a week, including weekends. Days off are not guaranteed unless specified in the contract. Crisis intervention skills essential for managing patients with suicidal ideation or aggression. Ability to assess patients' mental health status, recognizing signs of psychiatric disorders, substance use, and behavioral problems. Develop individualized care plans based on the needs of patients with mental health and behavioral issues. Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions. Monitoring patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs, mental status changes, and medication effects. Unit follows ICARE values: integrity, compassion, always, and respect. Use AIDET to enhance patient experience, which includes acknowledging, introducing, duration, explanation, and thank you. All staff expected to adhere to unit specific policies and guidelines.
