Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Athens, Tennessee. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: The ICU Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Athens, Tennessee. This role involves providing critical care services in a Level 3 trauma unit within a facility that offers acute inpatient services. The position requires delivering safe, patient-centered care to adult and geriatric populations in a fast-paced environment. The assignment offers flexible scheduling to accommodate the 12-hour night shifts. Job Details: Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in Tennessee, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), at least 2 years of relevant critical care experience, certifications completed prior to start date, and ability to work in the state of Tennessee. Preferred Qualifications: Critical care experience preferred, with familiarity managing complex diagnoses such as DKA, CVA, CP, post-surgical care, electrolyte imbalances, OD, and psychiatric patients with suicidal ideation. Float: Float rotation not required. Additional Information: This position involves working with adult and geriatric patient populations in a facility equipped with ventilators, bipaps, drips, glucometers, and electronic health records managed through Medhost. A team-oriented personality is essential, and scrubs in any color are acceptable. The start date is 09/14/2026, with an orientation scheduled bi-weekly on Mondays.
