Front Desk Receptionist

Precision Healthcare Specialists is seeking a friendly, organized, and dependable Front Desk Receptionist to join our Endocrinology team in Fort Myers, Florida.

The Front Desk Specialist will be responsible for providing excellent patient service while supporting the daily operations of the practice. This position will serve as one of the first points of contact for patients and requires someone who is professional, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office.

Essential Responsibilities

- Greet patients in a professional and welcoming manner.

- Check patients in and out for appointments.

- Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions and requests.

- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.

- Coordinate follow-up appointments and provider schedules.

- Process medication refill requests and route them appropriately to the clinical team.

- Assist with referrals and coordinate necessary information between providers and outside offices.

- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and other registration information.

- Collect copays, balances, and other applicable patient payments.

- Assist with insurance-related questions and ensure required information is documented accurately.

- Maintain accurate patient records and update information in the electronic medical record.

- Communicate professionally with patients, physicians, medical assistants, and other members of the healthcare team.

- Assist with other front-office and administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

- Previous medical office or healthcare front-desk experience preferred.

- Experience with patient scheduling and multi-line phone systems preferred.

- Knowledge of insurance verification, referrals, and medical terminology is a plus.

- Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR/EHR) system preferred.

- Strong customer service and communication skills.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy medical office.

- Professional and compassionate demeanor when working with patients.

- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.

- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
