Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele Float RN for a night shift position requiring a PA or compact RN license and prior telemetry float experience.

Details

• Float position within the Med/Surg Tele unit, floating within scope to meet facility needs
• Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:8 under a team nursing model
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• No block scheduling available
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or compact) currently in hand
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• NIHSS, TCAR, and TCRN certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Med/Surg Tele patient ratio experience (1:4-8) required
• Skilled in cardiac and vasoactive drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and IV therapy
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Experience with neurological and post-surgical care (craniotomy, CVA, TBI) preferred
• Cardiovascular skills including pacemaker management and pre/post cardiac cath or surgery care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive Med/Surg and telemetry nursing care across multiple hospital units as needed
• Approximately 4 hours of unpaid orientation modules required prior to start
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former Guthrie Healthcare System employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• RTO requests of 5 days or less are preferred
