About the Opportunity

This Elementary School is seeking a creative, forward-thinking Speech-Language Pathologist to join their close-knit school community for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an exciting year of transition for the district, with new leadership at the Director, Principal, and Superintendent levels. They're looking for an SLP who is excited to grow alongside the district, bring fresh ideas, and help shape the future of speech and language services. Because this is a small district with a tight-knit school and community, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families while making a visible impact.

Position Overview

The SLP will work primarily with general education students and students with minimal-to-moderate communication needs. There are no specialized programs, and the current caseload remains below the district's cap, with two part-time SLPs currently covering services.

The district is especially interested in an SLP who is active, innovative, and creative in their approach to therapy. Rather than relying heavily on worksheets or "canned" programs, they want someone who brings engaging, individualized ideas to their work with students.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech and language services to students in grades 3–8

• Develop individualized goals and therapy plans based on student needs

• Provide engaging, creative, and evidence-based intervention

• Monitor student progress and maintain appropriate documentation

• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with school staff

• Work closely with teachers and other members of the educational team

• Communicate with families regarding student progress and needs

• Contribute ideas and collaborate with district leadership as the speech program continues to grow

Qualifications

• ISBE Professional Educator License (PEL)

• IDFPR Speech-Language Pathologist License

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
