Senior Lead Software Engineer - Linux Platform

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of applied experience.
• We need strong programming ability to build production-grade tooling and automation, using languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
• We require deep, hands-on Linux engineering expertise, including administration, internals, performance tuning, and benchmarking on platforms such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, with experience delivering low-latency, high-throughput systems.
• We need practical experience with kernel-bypass networking, specifically Solarflare Onload, and with configuration management tools such as Chef or Ansible.
• We require hands-on experience using Agentic AI tools, including AI coding assistants and agent-based workflows, to speed up engineering and operational work.
• We need demonstrated experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools, with clear expectations for validating outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We require a solid understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations.
• We need strong knowledge of IPv4 networking, including the OSI model, unicast, broadcast, multicast, routing, and network segregation.
• We require experience designing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code solutions such as Terraform.
• We need practical cloud-native and container orchestration experience, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• We require experience leading cross-functional technology teams, as well as hiring, developing, and recognizing talent.
• Preferred experience includes server hardware selection, BIOS and firmware tuning, and bare-metal provisioning for performance-sensitive workloads.
• Preferred experience includes observability and telemetry tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK, along with knowledge of standard cryptography concepts.
• Preferred experience includes market-data and messaging technologies used in electronic trading, such as multicast market data and low-latency messaging buses.
• Preferred experience includes database management systems, especially PostgreSQL.

• We design, build, and run high-performance Linux platforms for low-latency electronic trading, working from the hardware and kernel layer upward.
• We architect new system designs and modern deployment models, including immutable infrastructure, containerization, and automated provisioning pipelines.
• We perform deep performance engineering and latency optimisation, including kernel tuning, CPU isolation and pinning, NUMA awareness, IRQ affinity, kernel-bypass networking, and precise time synchronisation.
• We write production-quality code and automation to create tooling, remove manual effort, and improve platform reliability and speed.
• We use Agentic AI tools and workflows to accelerate engineering work, automate research and remediation, and deliver outcomes faster.
• We drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational results.
• We apply approved SDLC toolchain capabilities, including AI-enabled development and automation, to increase the value of automation at scale.
• We interface with hardware and software vendors on product roadmaps and help define the next generation of Electronic Trading Platform infrastructure.
• We make decisions that influence team resources, budgets, tactical operations, and process execution.
• We carry governance accountability for engineering decisions, control obligations, and measures such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations.
• We deliver reusable technical solutions that can be applied across multiple businesses and domains.
• We mentor and influence SREs, peer engineers, and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
