Adjunct Diet and Nutrition InstructorThe Adjunct Diet and Nutrition Instructor has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, classroom instruction and lab instruction. Assigned classes may occur during the day, evening, and/or online with varying teaching locations including on-campus, dual enrollment, and Early College High School. This position reports to LSCPA's General Education and Developmental Studies Department.Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvide quality instructionExhibit commitment and involvement in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum based on program, department and college goals and objectivesAttend faculty meetingsMaintain current knowledge, expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility along with broader higher education matters and trendsRespond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional mannerComply with campus policies and proceduresOther related duties, as assignedMinimum/Preferred QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Master's degree in the qualifying field, or a master's degree with eighteen (18) semester credit hours in the subject matterWork independently in the classroomProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPointPossess time management and communication skillsValid driver's licensePreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in NutritionCertified as a Registered Dietician (RD)Teaching experience in higher educationTeaching experience at a two-year collegeSupplemental InformationPhysical Requirements:Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials up to 25 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure effective instruction and safe supervision of students in classroom and laboratory settings.
