Environmental Engineer III

Overview AECOM is seeking an Environmental Engineer III, Alabama-licensed professional engineer for CERCLA remediation projects. The candidate will work from Tallahassee, FL, soon to be Niceville, FL. The selected candidate will perform specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment under an experienced engineer. Duties include gathering and correlating basic engineering data using established procedures. Training will cover detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests. The candidate will be expected to propose approaches to solve new problems using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments and identify discrepancies in results. Responsibilities Provide guidance to entry level engineers Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision Independently perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works Provide technical input to CERCLA studies and design Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work by others Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables Assist in developing construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects Prepare technical specification sections Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS in Engineering or related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Alabama Professional Engineer (P.E.) Licensed Valid U.S Driver's License and, as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in Engineering or related field 5+ years of relevant experience in environmental remediation (including sediment) project management Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations Experience with pesticide remediation Experience successfully managing environmental projects under CERCLA Thorough working knowledge of the Alabama Department of Environmental Management Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication, both verbal and written skills Superior communication, writing, editing, and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders Occasional overnight travel required Additional Information Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position Relocation is not available for this position About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
