Environmental Health Safety Specialist

Job Title: EHS Specialist

Location: Tampa, FL (100% Onsite)

Duration: 6 Months (Possible Contract to Hire)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM Start

Hours: 40 Hours/Week (Some evening shift support may be required)

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) systems and programs at the plant site
• Lead and support EHS audits, incident investigations, corrective actions, and compliance activities
• Partner with Plant Management, Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams on EHS initiatives
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, PPE, Machine Guarding, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Confined Space requirements
• Maintain EHS documentation, training records, and safety management systems
• Support sustainability initiatives and capital project planning related to EHS improvements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in EHS program management within an industrial/manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, incident investigations, and workplace safety programs
• Hands-on experience with Machine Guarding, Lockout/Tagout, and Confined Space procedures
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

Certifications Required (Anyone):

• CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
• ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
• CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist)
• CEP (Certified Environmental Professional)

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in occupational health & safety, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to wear PPE including safety shoes, eyewear, hearing protection, long sleeves, and pants
• Flexibility to work extended or evening hours when needed
