Buyer The Buyer is responsible for purchasing goods and services for the company. They source, negotiate, and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors, working closely with the production team to ensure all materials are delivered on time and within budget. Responsibilities Purchase materials, products, equipment, and supplies in accordance with company guidelines and procedures. Identify and resolve vendor-related problems regarding specifications, timing, quality, quantity, and delivery of vendor products. Provide thorough communication between departments as required. Negotiate with vendors for best price, quality, and delivery of goods and services. Collaborate internally when necessary to obtain prices and specifications. Review schedules to anticipate required materials, products, equipment, and supplies. Assist on expediting orders of critical materials and parts. Monitor and maintain vendor consignment inventory, including recording and reporting usage and backfill requirements. Update and maintain departmental records, databases, and network files. Work independently with moderate supervision. Qualifications B.A. or equivalent work experience, or a combination of education and experience is required. 2‑3+ years of purchasing or related work experience is required. Knowledge of Encompix/MRP/ERP systems. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to interact with other members of the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
