Our organization is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to become a part of our team at a community hospital located in Leonardtown, Maryland. This facility, with a capacity of 103 beds, is looking for an SLP who has at least one year of experience following their Clinical Fellowship Year. The ideal candidate should be capable of working independently as the primary Outpatient SLP within the hospital.

The Speech Language Pathologist will deliver a range of services, including screening and evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, reassessment, patient reevaluation, discharge planning, and thorough documentation across various settings. Additionally, the SLP will engage in program planning and protocol development as needed, contributing to the achievement of established team goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations that involve reviewing relevant historical data, performing specific assessments, and documenting results along with recommendations. Clearly communicate evaluation findings and treatment plans to patients and their families, involving them in goal-setting.
• Exhibit proficiency in executing treatment protocols based on evaluation results, patient presentations, and the changing healthcare landscape. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as necessary, and document any changes in the patient's condition that may require adjustments to the care plan or additional consultations.
• Manage discharge planning and follow-up care effectively. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient care activities, providing a comprehensive overview of the patient's treatment journey, including initial evaluations, daily notes, interim progress reports, and discharge evaluations.
• Demonstrate strong time management skills and meet productivity targets while maintaining an organized schedule. Show a professional commitment to facilitating seamless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and empathetic behavior in a patient-centered environment.
• Proactively seek and direct continuing education opportunities for personal and organizational growth. Serve as a clinical instructor for students and assist in the orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, and volunteers.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program.
• Completion of a clinical fellowship year (CFY) with a preference for one additional year of experience.
• Must hold a valid Speech-Language Pathologist license in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and/or Virginia, as required for your specific location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) Certificate of Clinical Competence.

Compensation

This position offers a salary range of USD $74,214.00 - USD $134,596.00 per year.
