Key Responsibilities of the RN – Operating Room:
Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures
Prepare operating rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled surgeries
Serve as a circulating nurse while maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and perioperative staff
Monitor patient status throughout procedures and advocate for patient safety
Ensure compliance with infection prevention, sterile technique, and operating room protocols
Accurately document surgical procedures, patient care activities, and outcomes
Assist with patient positioning, specimen handling, and post-operative transitions of care

Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
Active Louisiana RN license or Compact RN License
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and sterile techniques
Experience working with a variety of surgical specialties preferred
Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work 8-hour day shifts in a fast-paced surgical environment
