Occupational Therapist (OT) - Ortho/Sports Med

Responsible for planning and administering occupational therapy treatment plans designed to alleviate pain, restore function, prevent disabilities, and promote overall fitness and health of patients. Serves as a role model in the delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students. Qualifications Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA) Bachelor’s Degree: Occupational Therapy (Required) Responsibilities Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair and floor. Demonstrates safe and appropriate body mechanics to reduce the risk of injury to self, staff and patients. Respects patients and staff by treating with dignity, empathy, and staying fully engaged. Designs an appropriate plan of care that integrates goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plan, adjusting it based on patient response and evidence. Assesses, creates, modifies, and fits custom splints/orthotics. Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant teaching methods. Evaluates clinical findings to determine diagnoses and a plan of care. Performs examinations using reliable and valid methods relevant to the chief complaint, screening, and history. Screens patients to determine effectiveness and need for therapy services. Supports personnel in accordance with legal standards and ethical guidelines. Monitors care delivered by support personnel and provides regular feedback. Communicates with the medical team. Documents according to department and practice standards. Meets customer service and productivity standards. Serves as a clinical instructor when assigned. Actively participates in team, program, department assignments and meetings. Performs reporting and other duties as assigned. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $34.66 per hour – $59.62 per hour.
