PRN Registered Nurse

PRN RN Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is in a role providing both patient care and education to direct patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assesses the full scope of patient needs using the nursing process on a continuous basis.
• Provides a safe environment for patients and employees through identifying/correcting/reporting health and safety hazards.
• Evaluate patient’s response to plan of care and work in collaboration with interprofessional team to make any needed adjustments.
• Responsibility and accountability for effectively managing nursing care of individual patients.
• Cooperates with distribution of resources to maintain a therapeutic environment.
• Maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and co-workers.
• Accountable for nursing practice through planned and continuous professional growth and development.
• Uses knowledge and judgement needed to meet the nursing needs of patient.
• Serves in a leadership role through clinical practice, supervision, teaching and research.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation within electronic medical records.
• Assist with medication management.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and regulations to give and evaluate patient care.

Qualifications/Education/Experience:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio.
• Working knowledge of how a medical office runs.
• At least one year of experience working in the medical field would be preferred but not required.
• BLS or CPR required.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift minimum 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities in a facility with multiple levels and without elevator or mechanical transportation.
• Operates a computer and keyboard.

Work Environment:

• This job operates in an inpatient facility environment at an OVP Health location that is open 24/7.
• Involves regular exposure to body fluids in a controlled environment.
• May be required to come in early or stay late if the need arises.
