Now Hiring - Warehouse/Yard Associate

Location: Altoona, IA

• In this role, you will be responsible for supporting warehouse and yard operations by receiving materials, pulling and preparing orders, loading delivery trucks, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment. This role partners closely with the yard team and inside sales staff to ensure accurate order fulfillment and excellent customer service.

• Receive and unload incoming materials safely and efficiently.
• Pull and prepare customer orders accurately from pick tickets and sales requests.
• Load and secure materials on delivery trucks for transport.
• Organize and maintain inventory in the warehouse and yard for easy access.
• Verify order accuracy before materials are loaded or released.
• Respond promptly to requests from customers, sales staff, and team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.
• Perform general labor duties, including loading, unloading, and staging materials.
• Handle construction-related materials and support yard operations as needed.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service to walk-in customers.

• Experience in a warehouse, yard, material handling, or similar environment.
• Ability to safely load, unload, and move materials throughout the day.
• Ability to team lift materials weighing 75-100 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic forklift experience or willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.

• Previous experience as a Yard Worker, Material Handler, or Yard Laborer.
• Experience working with construction materials or industrial products.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to workplace safety.

• Monday-Friday
• 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

• This position is based in a modern warehouse and yard facility in Altoona, IA . Employees split time between indoor warehouse operations and outdoor yard work while collaborating with both the yard team and inside sales staff. Steel-toed boots and appropriate work attire are required to maintain a safe working environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Altoona, IA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
