About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 1 Year License: New York License Required Certifications: BLS Required Must-Have: New York License in hand. Proficiency in EPIC Charting System. Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Behavioral Health. The position requires working on a night shift, consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week. Must be willing to work every other weekend. Candidates with previous charge experience are preferred. The patient ratio during nights is approximately 8 patients to 1 nurse. Staffing support includes interdisciplinary teams such as IV teams, Physical Therapy, and Pharmacy. A variety of patient diagnoses will be encountered, including psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression. The role may involve the use of seclusion protocols and dealing with self-injurious behavior. Candidates are expected to administer medications, monitor blood glucose, and start and maintain IVs. Travel experience is required for applicants. This role also requires strong skills in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques. Candidates must be able to float to different units as needed.
