Our organization is seeking a full-time Academic Dermatologist to become a part of the Division of Dermatology within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. The preferred candidate will hold board certification or be board-eligible in dermatology, showcasing a strong track record in clinical care, dermatopathology, medical education, program development, and scholarly contributions. We particularly encourage applicants with experience in leading or establishing residency training programs, especially those who have served as Residency Program Directors for new or inaugural programs. This role offers a blend of clinical practice, teaching opportunities for medical students and residents, curriculum development, leadership in residency programs, and involvement in research and academic projects. Department Overview

The Department of Internal Medicine stands as the largest within the College of Medicine and the University of Kentucky, comprising approximately 334 faculty members, 157 staff, 214 residents and fellows, and 203 advanced practice providers. It encompasses 14 clinical divisions along with 2 non-clinical divisions. The department is under the leadership of Dr. Darwin L. Conwell, MD, MS, FACG, along with a team of Vice Chairs, Associate Vice Chairs, and the Office of the Chair Administration.

Research and Academic Contributions

Faculty members in Internal Medicine secure over $35 million in annual grant funding to support innovative research across all subspecialties. In the past year alone, the department has published 287 peer-reviewed articles and currently oversees more than 50 active clinical trials and 240 ongoing grants and contracts. With 211 faculty engaged in research activities, the department also provides mentorship to biomedical learners, including PhD and master's students, offering them valuable experience in high-impact research environments.
