This role is ideal for candidates with manual machining, industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, fabrication, automotive, or manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and other machine shop equipment

• Machine shafts, housings, bearings, sleeves, keyways, and other precision components

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and dimensional specifications

• Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and precision measuring tools

• Repair and restore worn mechanical components

• Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to meet specifications

• Support repair, rebuild, and maintenance projects

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Requirements

• Experience operating manual machining equipment

• Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings

• Strong understanding of machining practices, tolerances, and precision measurements

• Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other inspection equipment

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards

• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Experience That's a Plus

• Industrial maintenance experience

• Mechanical repair experience

• Welding or fabrication experience

• Rotating equipment or gearbox experience

• CNC machining experience

• Automotive or equipment repair experience

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marion, IA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
