Step into a dynamic school environment as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist on a contract assignment, working approximately 37.5 hours per week. This engaging opportunity allows you to support K-12 students through two maternity leaves, making an immediate and meaningful impact in their educational journeys. New graduates are welcome—clinical fellows are encouraged to apply and will be considered for the position.

You’ll address a diverse range of communication needs while collaborating with educators, families, and fellow SLPs. If you have experience or a preference for a particular grade level, please share your interests as there may be flexibility in matching caseloads to your strengths.

What you’ll bring:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Valid SLP license or eligibility in Virginia
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or CFY in progress
• Previous experience in a school setting is highly valued
• Strong assessment, diagnosis, and therapy planning skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
• Compassion, flexibility, and adaptability when managing changing caseloads
• Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families

What you’ll do:

• Provide direct speech-language services to K-12 students across two contiguous maternity leave assignments (November through late March)
• Conduct assessments, develop and implement IEPs, and document progress according to school policies
• Consult with teaching staff and parents to support students’ functional communication
• Serve students at multiple grade levels, with possible consideration for caseload preference
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
