Senior Health Physicist

Health Physicist SrOverview The Health Physicist Sr provides operational and technical coordination of daily Radiation Protection evolutions. Additionally, establishes and maintains programs for the effective monitoring and trending of current radiological control practices and actively participates in the development of new processes and technologies. Interfaces with other Station departments to ensure efficient coordination of their activities with the Station's Radiation Protection strategiesKey AccountabilitiesAssist the Radiation Protection Supervisors in the direction of day-to-day activities of the Radiation Protection personnel including log review and coordination with other station work groupsDevelop and maintain Radiation Protection Department and Safety Services proceduresCoordinate the implementation of the Station's Radioactive Waste Management; ALARA; Radioactive Material Control; Dosimetry; Respiratory Protection and Effluent & Radiological Environmental ProgramsMonitor the effectiveness of the above programs and produce various trend reportsRepresent Radiation Protection on the Chemical Overview Group (COG)Act as Contract Coordinator for various Radiation Protection ContractsSupport Outage planning in the development and execution of radiological support plansAssist in the development and oversight of Radiation Protection training for Technicians and Radiation WorkersEducation, Experience, & Skill RequirementsBachelors of Science degree in Health Physics or Radiation Protection + 4 years related experience –or-Bachelor's degree + 6 years related work experience -or-Associates degree in engineering technology, chemistry, radiation protection or related field + 9 years related work experience and NRRPT Certification -or-Navy Nuclear ELT + 9 years related work experience and NRRPT Certification -or-11 years related work experience and NRRPT Certification (including at least 2 years of Radiation Protection experience)Key MetricsTechnical competenceTeamworkProblem solving/Decision makingResults OrientationJob FamilyPlant OperationsCompanyVistra Nuclear Operations CompanyLocationsShippingport, Pennsylvania PennsylvaniaWe are a company of people committed to: Exceeding Customer Expectations, Great People, Teamwork, Competitive Spirit and Effective Communication.
