DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports facility and grounds maintenance for the 193d Special Operations Wing by completing repair work, upkeep, and improvements across the base. It helps maintain safe, functional buildings and outdoor areas through skilled tasks and daily care. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:

• Electrical Work: Install and replace circuits, fixtures, switches, and related components
• Plumbing Tasks: Repair sinks, pipes, drains, and interior water lines using proper materials
• Carpentry Repairs: Fix doors, windows, walls, flooring, and interior structures as needed
• Surface Work: Mix and pour cement, repair sidewalks, and complete plaster and paint tasks
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform repairs, adjustments, and preventive care on various building equipment
• Grounds Upkeep: Operate landscaping, snow removal, and cleaning equipment for facility maintenance

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours/week
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Work hours may change based upon operational needs.
• Travel as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:

• You must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport for this position. Proof of possession will be needed at the time of a conditional offer of employment.
