Job Description
We are looking for a Compensation Analyst to support pay programs and compensation planning for our organization in Jersey City, New Jersey. This role focuses on market analysis, salary administration, compliance review, and year-end compensation activities while helping ensure pay practices remain competitive and aligned with business needs. The position also contributes to incentive planning and select executive compensation initiatives in a collaborative human resources environment.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate compensation data from market sources to assess job leveling, pay positioning, and salary range alignment while balancing external benchmarks with internal consistency.
• Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and compensation leadership to review pay recommendations for new hires, role changes, and market-based adjustments.
• Perform exemption assessments and apply wage and hour guidelines to help maintain compliance with applicable labor standards.
• Take part in compensation surveys and interpret results to support decisions on organizational pay competitiveness.
• Contribute to annual compensation cycles by assisting with merit planning, incentive administration, data validation, employee communications, and related processing activities.
• Support variable pay programs through analysis, payout calculations, and financial modeling tied to compensation budgets.
• Assist with executive compensation work, including administration of long-term incentive programs and oversight of equity-related tools and processes.
• 3+ years of experience in compensation
• Demonstrated knowledge of compensation analysis, salary benchmarking, and market survey interpretation.
• Familiarity with wage and hour regulations, including exemption review and pay compliance principles.
• Experience supporting annual compensation planning processes such as merit increases and incentive programs.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to work accurately with compensation data, calculations, and audits.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with HR partners, talent acquisition teams, and business stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using compensation-related systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools to support analysis and administration.
