Job Description:

The Partner Program Competency Lead drives the design, activation, and business impact of competencies across the HPE Partner Ready Vantage program. This role ensures competencies are clearly defined, adopted, and directly tied to partner growth—driving richer practices, increased pipeline, and revenue growth. This is a highly cross-functional individual contributor role working across business units, enablement, certifications, marketing, partner communities, and program leadership to deliver a competency model that is credible, scalable, and aligned to customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Competency Strategy & Structure

• Define and evolve the competency framework across HPE aligned to portfolio priorities in combination with each business unit and the program liaison.

• Establish clear structures, categories, and progression paths aligned to how partners build and scale practices.

• Ensure strong, differentiated value propositions for each competency across routes to market, including potential partner service opportunities

• Continuously evolve competencies in partnership with business units, channel sales, enablement, and certification teams.

Cross-Functional Alignment

• Partner with business units to ensure competencies reflect real-world solution delivery requirements.

• Align enablement and certification programs to support competency attainment and ongoing skill development.

• Coordinate with marketing to define and deliver competency value proposition messaging and assets.

• Align with partner program strategy and leadership on overall partner value and incentives.

Competency Engagement & Activation

• 'Breathe life' into competencies by orchestrating ongoing engagement models with partners and internal teams.

• Establish and scale competency-specific engagement models (e.g., PowerHours, community sessions, roadmap briefings).

• Build and support competency-based partner communities to drive deeper engagement and peer learning.

• Enable early access to insights, roadmaps, and best practices for competent partners.

From Competency to Revenue

• Define how partners translate competencies into richer practices, pipeline, and revenue.

• Drive initiatives with distributors and ecosystem partners to expand the base of competent partners.

• Embed competencies into go-to-market motions in partnership with sales, services, and marketing.

• Track and evolve approaches to ensure competencies drive measurable business outcomes.

Partner Value & Positioning

• Ensure competencies deliver clear, differentiated value to partners.

• Translate HPE technologies into business outcomes that resonate with partners and their customers.

• Drive clear and consistent positioning of competencies as a growth lever for partners.

Evangelization & Communication

• Act as the internal and external champion for competencies.

• Drive consistent communication across teams and the partner ecosystem.

• Engage leadership, field teams, and partner communities to build momentum and credibility.

Experience & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in partner programs, channel strategy, or technology roles.

• Strong understanding of partner ecosystems and go-to-market models.

• Broad knowledge across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and services.

• Ability to translate HPE technologies into how partners build, differentiate, and scale practices that drive services growth and customer outcomes.

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.

• Comfort operating at both strategic and execution levels.
