Registered Nurse Supervisor - Operating Room Orthopedics

Position Overview Registered Nurse in the Surgery Room at 37703 Carolinas Medical Center. The RN works under the manager to enhance nursing practice, support quality and operational activities, and directly provide patient care. Key Responsibilities Supports the manager using systematic approaches to improve nursing practice and patient care delivery. Assists with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel. Coordinates communication throughout shifts via staff meetings and huddles. Assures compliance with federal and state regulations and policies. Rounds with patients, teammates, and physicians to assess satisfaction and operations. Delegates care to appropriate staff per legal or policy parameters. Identifies expected outcomes and provides direction for continuity of care. Evaluates progress toward goal attainment and disseminates information to staff. Performs nursing care, assists with treatments, therapies, procedures, and administers medications. Manages patient flow and staffing by assessing volume and acuity needs. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN required, RN state licensure. Minimum two years nursing experience; previous management experience preferred. BSN candidates for external hire or internal promotion must be enrolled in a BSN program within one year and complete within three years. BLS required. Professional certification (clinical or leadership) required within one year of eligibility. Physical Requirements Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must lift and support up to 35 pounds. Must speak and understand English fluently. Intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch; finger dexterity; critical thinking and concentration. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $44.15 - $66.25 per hour.
